A brief history
Evolve Construction was founded in 2007 with the premise of building more efficient, non-toxic, sustainable homes by integrating alternative natural materials into the building.
Once the cultivation of hemp was made legal in the US around 2016, this opened up the doors for many new sustainable materials and products including hempcrete. As we began working with hempcrete we realized its potential for being a viable alternative to the toxic materials used in construction today.
With longevity and better performance, Hempcrete construction has proven to be a fire/mold/pest resistant breathable material that reduces the amount of carbon in our atmosphere(carbon negative), has far less waste during construction, with lower utility bills and far less maintenance hempcrete is more affordable in both the short and the long term. The non-toxic natural materials make it healthier to live in and less destructive to the planet, designed with a thermal envelope, hempcrete is naturally much more energy efficient(up to 60% more) then traditional stick built construction.
Evolve Construction is passionate about bringing EverGreen Building® solutions to both private and non-profit organizations as an alternative to traditional building materials, provide long term affordable housing, and hempcrete construction products in the future.

In our endeavor to provide hempcrete building solutions and services we have completed four permitted structures in 3 different counties, Routt County, Larimer County, and La Plata County in Colorado, two of which hold Certificates of Occupancy.
Working with a team in 2023 that was awarded one of The Four Corners Carbon Coalition grants to provide a carbon negative commercial workshop in Durango, Colorado using Evolve hempcrete SIPS panels.
The traditional form of hempcrete shutter wall construction led us to the development the proprietary hempcrete SIPS panel system that enables us to fabricate both offsite and onsite hempcrete exterior walls. This speeds up the building process and allows for a more consistent and standardized casting of hempcrete for future buildings and housing developments.

Evolve Construction, LLC was founded in 2007 by Jeremy Stephen with a focus on improving efficiency, while integrating sustainable, lower maintenance, non-toxic materials into traditional homes.
After continued research on alternative and natural materials used in construction, along with the re-introduction of hemp cultivation in the US, Jeremy built his own hempcrete home in 2017 which was the first hempcrete home in Colorado to receive a Certificate of Occupancy.
Our focus since the completion of the first hempcrete residence is to get it out into the world!
